Psatha is a 2,5 kilometers long beach, which is offered for swimming in the crystal blue waters, for sunbathing under the unique sun of Greece, for a marine exploration by renting a canoe and generally for a relaxed excursion even for the local residents! According to the folklore tradition, the name “Psatha” came from the “psathi”, a famous plant that grows almost in all region and looks like a straw. Moreover, as per Pausanias, the great Greek traveler and geographer, and his work “Description of Greece” – “Hellados Periegesis” the place also has a great historical past! In antiquity Psatha’s bay was a big port named “Panormos” which belonged to “Pages” the previous name of modern’s - day place called ‘Alepoxori”. After excavations, archaeologist revealed the acropolis of the city and a temple. Moreover, historical facts and mythological traditions are relevant with Kithairon mount.
