The club was founded quite years ago and it located in front of the old port. It is a well-organized club which refers to all ages and all human types, from the athletics to others who just look for an unforgivable experience in the sea. According to the coach, sailing is an adventurous, safe sport which combines fun and exercise! It doesn’t need so much strength and a so good physical condition but more mental participation and love for the nature! The surroundings of the old port are the reasons why this sailing lesson is a unique choice for those who love watersports and generally the sea environment to work out or to relax with collecting contradictory images and feelings!
The combination of old port’s facilities with the derelict plant’s shells towards the coastal line, the remains of old big ships, the view of fishermen allover and the endless blue waters makes the perfect scenery for such a lesson! The calmness of the sea, the ferocity of the industrial landscape and the melancholy from the remains of the old port are some of the feeling that feels while you sail!
However, the sailing isn’t a tradition Greek sport but the relation between the sea and the Greeks is an undeniable fact! Moreover, the fact that the weather is sunny and warm from Spring to Autumn, makes the sport ideal for the country! Eleusina was always connected with the sea not only during the ancient times but also nowadays with the presence of shipyards. The reuse of the old port in such a way, is impressing and symbolize the unity of the technological and historical aspects of Eleusina in the same old landscape!
