Nafplio is surrounded by idyllic beaches. The infinite blue of the sea of Argolis meets the blue of the sky, offering the visitor unforgettable moments of relaxation, enjoyment and well-being.
Traversing the uphill road next to the Land Gate, our senses are provoked by the beach "Arvanitia" with small pebbles and iron stairs that offer easy access to the sea. It is the nearest beach to the city centre, behind Acronafplia. However, the most popular beach and a point of reference of Nafplio's summer life is the sandy beach of Karathona. Between Arvanitia and Karathona, there is one more enchanting beach called "Neraki" which is famous for its underwater life.
Another famous beach is Psili Ammos of the adjacent resort Tolo, which families prefer because it's like a huge swimming pool. Next to Tolo, in ancient Asine, lies the homonymous beach of Asine, ideal for those who prefer deep, calm waters. Kondili beach is a bit far from Nafplio, but is worth a visit for its beautiful crystal-clear waters and also for its picturesque, by-the-sea chapel of Aghios Nikolaos. Very near is Candia beach, the favourite place of the youth and a little further, the isolated and quiet Iria, renowned for its rich sea bottom. Moreover: Kastraki, Plaka, Vivari and Kiveri…holidays in Nafplio offer the opportunity to visit its neighbouring beaches and the infinite blue of a calm and accessible seaside.
