MARATHON EQUESTRIAN CENTRE

Tucked away in a verdant setting a mere 45 minutes from downtown Athens, and spread over 48,500 square metres, the centre is the perfect place for seasoned riders or amateurs who simply enjoy the thrill and freedom of being on the saddle. Riding on quartz sand along the 20x60m or the 50x70m racetrack is certainly a good idea; however, this riding club boasts proximity to the enchanting National Reserve of Schinias, and it is common knowledge in the area that nothing compares to riding along the sandy beach and right into one of the thickest pine forests of the Mediterranean.

Riding may be good exercise and a chance for city-dwellers to embrace their inner horse-whisperer, but recent years have seen great developments in therapeutic riding, a special discipline aiming to provide training and rehabilitation to people with speech, cognitive, motor, and behavioural disabilities. The Equestrian Centre works together with healthcare professionals in the context of Neuro-Developmental Treatment programmes, to ensure these people receive the best possible care.Apart from being a haven for riders and friends, complete with an ideally located café overlooking the tracks, the Centre also takes great care of the horses, by providing spotlessly clean facilities and quality grooming services.

Mycenae
