Athens has the longest coastal road among European cities. We maybe believe that Cannes or Barcelona hold the primacy in this sector but the truth is that Athens do possess the longest and one of the most majestic seaside avenues in the whole continent!
This 'Athenian Riviera' is a forty-kilometers coastal road with a marvelous seaside view and blue beaches, which starts just twelve kilometers away from Athens' center at Glyfada and ends at the Cape Sounion. The whole route is of unique and incomparable beauty. The very heart of it however, its jewel, is Lemos, in Vouliagmeni. Lemos has one of the best resorts in Greece, Astir Palace, clear blue beaches and many restaurants, coffee-shops and bars.
It combines proximity to Athens' center with luxury and natural beauty. We can choose between, literally, hundreds of different bars and restaurants, from the most luxurious we can ever imagine to the humblest canteen. What makes however Lemos a really special place, is its unique ability to blend, different to each other, ways of life and to produce its own sui generis atmosphere. An atmosphere which makes everyone feel relaxed and lucky to be there either for a short two-hour visit or for a whole week!
The weather, from spring to autumn, is always, or almost always, sunny, the natural environment blends wonderfully with the urban one and the people are quite relaxed and friendly. What more we need to enjoy a lovely seaside escape just few minutes away from the Omonoia Square?
